bug fixes community feedback consent mode gcd parameter product updates beta testing

Since opening our free Consent Mode checks to the community, we've received helpful feedback that's allowed us to improve ConsentGuard.

The response has been great: almost 200 websites tested, a few bug reports, and some helpful questions and suggestions. This is exactly what we hoped for when we decided to launch our beta publicly, because... sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees when you're too close to your own code!

Today, we're excited to share the first round of improvements based on your feedback.

Here’s what we’ve improved so far:

  1. False positive for "Invalid GCD parameter"

Invalid GCD parameter error message

Some websites were incorrectly flagged for having an invalid GCD parameter. We can go into technical details with anyone interested, but in short: having the letter L in the last part of the GCD value is fine. Having it in the first 10 characters is not. So if you see that in future reports, it’s a real issue.

Speaking of which...

  1. We improved the error message

Better explanation for GCD error messages

We improved the way errors are displayed to make debugging easier and faster.

And lastly,

  1. Fixed analysis errors caused by resource optimization

Some users encountered error messages when trying to view their results because our analysis system couldn't properly examine their websites.

This happened because we were attempting to optimize bandwidth and processing time by not loading all images and fonts during analysis. While well-intentioned, some websites didn't behave correctly in this scenario, causing the analysis to fail.

We've updated our analysis engine to load all necessary resources, ensuring more reliable results. If you previously received an error, your website should now analyze successfully.

What's Next?

This is just the beginning. We're committed to continuously improving ConsentGuard based on real-world usage and community feedback.
